As winter approaches, it can be easy for us, changemakers and sustainability leaders, to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and the demands of our work. But don’t forget the importance of taking care of yourself!

Prioritizing self-care through rest, relaxation, and allowing is essential for maintaining physical and mental health, and it will ultimately help you to be more effective and successful in your work.

Think about it: when you are well-rested and relaxed, you are more likely to make better decisions, communicate more effectively, and be more productive. This can help to improve the impact of your work and contribute to the overall success of your sustainability initiatives.

So, make time for rest and relaxation this winter. Take breaks when you need them, find activities that help you to unwind, and prioritize self-care. Your body and mind will thank you, and you’ll be better equipped to tackle the challenges and opportunities that come your way.

Resting and relaxing are the foundation for the most important (and challenging) part of our winter growth edge: Allowing.

In Ayurveda, the quantum medicine of our times, this concept is known as santosha, and translates as “contentment in the present moment”.
When we are constantly striving and pushing ourselves, it can lead to physical and mental exhaustion, which can disrupt the balance of our mind and body. Hmm… think about your family members around the festive table or the unexpected situations that just happen at the moment you less expect them to do.

Allowing ourselves time for rest and relaxation helps to restore balance and promote overall well-being.

💙 Remember, self-care is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. So don’t let the demands of the season or your work drain you. Take care of yourself, and you’ll be able to make a bigger impact on the world around you.
